The first four bullets below address the most commonly asked questions regarding licensing for SPSS Base, Clementine, and Text Analysis.
An authorization code allows the user to retrieve a license code, and thereby permanently license the software. This is accomplished with the License Authorization Wizard during the software installation process.
For SPSS Base and add-on modules, the Clementine family and ShowCase family of products, your license code can be found within your shipment on a yellow sheet. You can also request a license code by completing our online license code request form.
License codes for Dimensions software (such as mrInterview, mrStudio, mrTranslate, mrTables, mrPaper, mrScan) and other market research software (such as In2quest, Surveycraft, Verbastat, Entryware) will be e-mailed to you.
For SPSS Base and add-on modules, the Clementine family and ShowCase family of products, your authorization code can be found within your shipment on a yellow sheet. You can also request an authorization code by completing our online authorization code request form.
An authorization code allows the user to retrieve a license code, and thereby permanently license the software. This is accomplished with the License Authorization Wizard during the software installation process. Authorization codes are utilized in SPSS Base, Clementine, and text analysis products.
When you installed you by-passed the permanent licensing of the software and installed in trial mode. This trial mode allows access for two weeks, at the end of which if you have not permanently licensed the software it will time-out. To remedy this, in the SPSS software go to help, and click on License Authorization Wizard. Then, utilizing the authorization code provided with your order, you can permanently license the software via internet or via phone or e-mail if you do not have a high-speed connection.
The most common cause of these errors is based on the maximum allowable number of installations being met. For each purchase of SPSS Base, Clementine, or text analysis software, SPSS will allow a certain number of installations (associated with the authorization code). Once that number has been met, no more installs are allowed. The number of allowable installs is based on the terms of the agreement with SPSS at time of purchase. Further questions in this area can be directed to your SPSS account manager.
