Flexible Licensing Options

SPSS Inc. provides a variety of ways for your educational institution* to license SPSS® for Windows®. Choose from the following options:

SPSS® site license

Install SPSS for Windows software on individual machines and on faculty and staff home machines with an SPSS site license. Licenses are determined by the number of copies in circulation (a "copy" is defined as belonging to a specific, named faculty member, staff member, or lab station).

SPSS network license

Install SPSS for Windows software on a server, providing access exclusively to users with network access, with an SPSS network license. Licenses are determined by the number of simultaneous users (non-specific people) who access SPSS at any given time. An SPSS network license is a cost-effective way to extend access to many users. If you have an SPSS network license, you can make available to your users a commuter license. This enables network license users to run SPSS for Windows without connecting the network and the license manager. You can designate a certain percentage of licenses as commuter licenses, which licensed users can check out. For example, faculty and staff can use SPSS software on a university-owned or controlled computer from home or while attending conferences.

SPSS enterprise license

The SPSS enterprise license enables unlimited distribution of SPSS for Windows software. This includes site license and network license installations. You can customize each license by choosing any combination of SPSS add-on modules and platforms.

SPSS consortia license

With the SPSS consortia license, you can increase your buying power by joining with other schools to license SPSS for Windows software.

SPSS mobile computing solutions

If your university or four-year or community college provides laptops to incoming students (or to those beginning programs), you can now arrange for pre-installation of the full version of SPSS (may include SPSS Base and/or additional modules). The software may be pre-installed by the laptop manufacturer or your campus computing office.
